Ay Jump 2 Independence Ltd, we offer a flexible volunteer and befriending service to all our service users. We believe that by using the volunteering and befriending service it can help to minimise the feeling of isolation. It can also reduce the pressure placed on families and help to alleviate poor health and the risk of hospital admission.

There are many benefits to the volunteering/ befriending scheme, including:

• Increases social interaction

• Decreases isolation

• Helps increase social skills

• Takes pressure off family members

We ensure that our volunteers are given appropriate on-going training and then matched to service users to encourage the development of “peer relationships”. Our volunteers will visit their individual service user weekly to build confidence, reduce social isolation and to raise self-esteem.
